DENISON, Texas (JULY 6, 2017) – The American Red Cross introduced Douglas Crowson as the executive director for the American Red Cross Serving Texoma. Crowson will be based in Denison, Texas, where he will oversee Red Cross programs and services for more than 1.9 million people in Collin, Cooke, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Montague and Wise counties.
“We are very excited that Doug has joined the North Texas team,” said Keith Rhodes, CEO, American Red Cross North Texas Region. “His optimistic spirit and down to earth persona will help the Red Cross build and maintain strong relationships in the communities in and around Texoma.”
Prior to joining the Red Cross, Crowson spent more than 15 years at Boy Scouts of America where he garnered extensive experience in board development, fundraising, volunteer growth and community relations. Most recently, he functioned as the district director in South Central Oklahoma where his service area was composed of nine counties stretching over urban, rural and suburban areas. He also served the Boy Scouts as the senior district executive in Texarkana and district executive in Wichita Falls. Crowson served eight years in the U.S. Army.
Crowson has a bachelor’s degree in biology from East Central University and a master’s degree in human services from Murray State University.
“I grew up in Texoma and I understand what is important to my neighbors in this part of the country,” Crowson said. “This area is comprised of some of the most generous people, committed volunteers and close-knit communities in North Texas. I am excited to continue building strong relations between the Red Cross and each community in the Texoma area and look forward to partnering with local volunteers to help others in their time of need.”
