TYLER – The American Red Cross serving East Texas and North Texas Region presented, Macen and Micah Beard of Whitehouse, TX with Lifesaving Awards on Monday, March 8.
The Beard’s were presented with this prestigious award for their heroic efforts to save a man’s life using the lifesaving skills they learned in American Red Cross Lifeguard CPR/AED training.
The Certificate of Merit is the highest award given by the American Red Cross to individuals who save or sustain a life using skills they learned at an American Red Cross Training Services Course.
In attendance and providing accolades to these amazing young men were The Honorable Nathan Moran, Smith County Judge, The Honorable James Wansley, mayor of Whitehouse, Keith Rhodes, CEO of the American Red Cross North Texas Region, Tammy Prater, executive director for the American Red Cross East Texas Chapter, and family and friends.
The Honorable James Wansley announced plans to provide additional acknowledgment of the Beard’s brothers' bravery and receiving of the Red Cross Lifesaving Award during the Whitehouse City Council Meeting on Tuesday, March 9 at 6 P.M.
