DALLAS-FORT WORTH — The American Red Cross North Texas Region is asking you to participate in Red Cross Giving Day – Wednesday, March 24, 2021 – in support of families impacted by disasters big and small because #HelpCantWait.
Imagine your life being turned upside down by a disaster. One minute you’re relaxing with your family and the next, you’re jolted by the sound of a blaring smoke alarm, tornado siren or emergency evacuation alert. You flee your home and leave behind nearly everything you hold dear, not knowing what will remain when you return.
On March 24, unite with thousands of compassionate people like you by donating. In moments of heartbreak, your gift gives hope by providing shelter, food, relief items, emotional support and other assistance because #HelpCantWait.
Giving Day is a 24-hour fundraising campaign during Red Cross Month which supports the work of the American Red Cross.
Nearly every eight minutes, the Red Cross meets someone who may have lost everything to a home fire or other disaster. Financial support on Giving Day will help in the minutes, hours and days after a disaster.
In 2020, the Red Cross North Texas Region responded to more than 1,600 home fires, assisted over 7,900 individuals as they began recovering from disasters, enrolled more than 40,000 individuals in educational courses such as CPR/AED and first aid, and installed over 6,500 free smoke alarms in an effort to help make homes safer.
The Red Cross is grateful for the generosity of the American people on Red Cross Giving Day and throughout the year. Donate by visiting redcross.org/givingday or by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 because #HelpCantWait.
