SACRAMENTO, CA (September 29, 2021) -- On Friday, August 27, 2021, the Kelly Foundation of Sacramento presented the American Red Cross California Gold Country Region with a donation of $50,000 to support the organization’s California wildfire relief efforts.
The foundation’s generous donation will be used to provide emergency shelter, food, water, relief supplies, emotional support, health services and financial assistance to those affected by wildfires across the state.
“We are so grateful for the support from the Kelly Foundation,” said Gary Strong, Regional Executive of the American Red Cross California Gold Country Region. “This donation will help ensure that those directly affected by this summer’s fires get the help they need to recover during this difficult time.”
Since June, the Red Cross has provided the following support to thousands of wildfire evacuees:
Financial assistance provided by the Red Cross will allow people to make their own decisions and prioritize what their family needs most to start recovering. Funds can help families replace clothes or food, offset transportation costs, or support any other immediate need. More Information can be found here.
The organization has carried out its mission thanks to some 930 trained disaster volunteers from across the country who have given of their time and talents to care for those in need.
