Sacramento, CA, August 11, 2020 – The American Red Cross California Gold Country Region is pleased to announce the hiring of Chico business leader Matthew Foor as a Regional Philanthropy Officer. Foor will be based in Chico cultivating relationships with new and existing donors to further the mission of the Red Cross throughout Northern California.

We are thrilled to welcome him to our team and I'm confident that he will thrive as he brings together donors who share the same passion for humanitarian service,” said Regional Chief Development Officer Kimberly Coley.

Foor previously served as Community Development Manager for the American Cancer Society where he worked with leadership volunteers to raise funds through Relay for Life, Real Men Wear Pink and Pull for a Cure in Yuba City, Colusa and Chico.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to bring my talents to support another amazing nonprofit that helps save lives every day,” said Foor. “I am looking forward to introducing my existing contacts to the incredible mission and services of the American Red Cross.”

Foor has over two decades of experience in fundraising, working with individual donors, foundations, and corporations. His broad professional experience also includes radio broadcasting, marketing, and television. In 1986, while working as a radio personality in Stockton on KWG 1230 AM, Foor conceived and executed a fundraising marathon collection drive to support flood victims of San Joaquin County, especially in Thornton where a levee broke and flooded one-third of the town. In partnership with the Red Cross, the project filled two semi-truck trailers of needed items to help flood victims.
