Tempe Essell joined the American Red Cross of Riverside County board of directors in January 2018. In addition to serving as the Board Chair, Tempe has also served as a volunteer in various other capacities, including Legislative Days and the Sound the Alarm campaign. She is passionate about the mission of the Red Cross and enjoys being part of an organization that does so much good for our communities. Tempe is a retired department store buyer and small business owner

Claude Hazan serves on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Riverside County and volunteers as a Finance Manager with the Red Cross National Headquarters Finance Department. He leverages decades of executive financial planning, risk analysis, and process discipline to support the Red Cross mission both locally and nationally.

Prior to retiring in 2022, Claude built his career in portfolio management, technology investment, and systems engineering. He was a Founder/Portfolio Manager at Kayak Investment Partners, where his engineering background informed a process-oriented approach to investment strategy and risk management. His earlier career includes serving as Founder/Portfolio Manager at The Tuscan Group, supervising sector funds as a partner at Bowman Capital Management, working as a semiconductor analyst at Banc of America Securities, and designing systems for national defense programs at TRW (now part of Northrop Grumman).

Claude holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA, Finance from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He resides in Palm Desert, California where he can frequently be found honing his pickleball game.
