MCALLEN, TX (September 11, 2018) – The American Red Cross of South Texas celebrates opening the new McAllen office with a ribbon cutting ceremony set for September 12, 2018. In a strategic move to be more accessible to the residents of Hidalgo County, the McAllen office is being established.
"Being accessible and accountable to the communities we serve is a top priority,” said Danella Hughes, Executive Director, American Red Cross South Texas. “The Red Cross responds to disasters every day, which includes house fires, so being in a strategic location with easily accessible resources where we can serve all five counties this chapter represents is important."
The new office is located in downtown McAllen at 709 S. Broadway, across the street from City Hall and closer to community partners and other governmental agencies who work with the Red Cross.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening begins at 5:30 p.m. with an opportunity to meet and greet Henry Van De Putte, Regional Chief Executive, American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast, along with Mayor Jim Darling and other city officials.
