Fort Worth launch event will feature:
“We’re excited to launch our campaign during Hispanic Heritage Month, a time we celebrate the rich cultural contributions of the Hispanic community,” said Adolph Aguirre, executive director of the DFW Metro West Chapter of the American Red Cross North Texas Region. “Los Donantes are characters inspired by the beloved game of lotería, symbolizing the lifesaving act of donating blood in a way that resonates with our cultural traditions. Our hope is that this campaign will inspire the Hispanic community to act, whether by donating blood themselves or by encouraging their organizations to host blood drives that support patients in need.”
Fort Worth launch event:
Hispanic donors are vital to maintaining a diverse blood supply for patients in need. More than half of Hispanic blood donors have type O blood, which is routinely in short supply and high demand at hospitals. A partnership between the Red Cross and the Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas extends an exciting new invitation to inspire new lifesaving donors while at the same time strengthening the blood supply.
Members of the media, community leaders and interested organizations are invited to join the Red Cross and our partners for this exciting launch event. The Hispanic community is encouraged to join this campaign by signing up to make a lifesaving blood donation at one of the many drives over the next few weeks happening in their community. Visit redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment.
