REDDING, CA (May 15, 2024) — The American Red Cross California Gold Country Region presents the Fired Up Institute this week to train volunteers to respond to the needs of our region in the event of a disaster.
This three-day event runs May 16-18 at Simpson University in Redding, CA. Participants can choose from a variety of courses including:
Thursday, May 16
Friday, May 17
Saturday, May 18
When compared to all other Red Cross Regions, California Gold Country has consistently been the #1 highest probability of requiring complex disaster response between the months of June and October.
“With our propensity for wildfires, floods and other disasters, the California Gold Country Region of the Red Cross strives to ensure our volunteer workforce is properly trained to respond to the needs of the community any time of year,” said Regional Disaster Program Officer Robin Friedman.
