SACRAMENTO, CA (June 22, 2026) -- The American Red Cross California Gold Country Region is seeking 10 new Disaster Action Team volunteers in 10 days in El Dorado, Placer, Alpine, Mendocino Lake, Colusa, Yolo, Yuba, Sutter, Sierra, Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties.
Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) members respond to disasters large and small every eight minutes. Most local disasters are home fires, but we are also poised to support our communities after natural disasters such as wildfires and floods – responses that can last for months. Adding 10 new DAT volunteers to each of these counties will ensure we can provide quality care to those in need in a timely manner and for an extended period of time, when needed.
