YUBA CITY, CA (January 8, 2024) — The American Red Cross California Gold Country Region will host its first blood drive in Yuba City on Monday, January 13.

The event will happen at our Yuba City office located at 2125 W Onstott Frontage Rd. Donors can schedule their donation at redcrossblood.org.

Blood donors will automatically be entered to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, as our thank you for helping during the critical post-holiday time!

The winner and guest will get to enjoy Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, access to day-of in-stadium pre-game activities, tickets to the official Super Bowl Experience, round-trip airfare to New Orleans, three-night hotel accommodations (Feb. 7-10, 2025), plus a $1,000 gift card for expenses.

The American Red Cross urges donors to make an appointment to give lifesaving blood or platelets now to help protect the blood supply from the growing impact of severe winter weather. Type O negative blood donors and those giving platelets are especially urged to give now to keep critical blood products on the shelves for patients in need. 

Dangerous snow and ice conditions that continue to move across the country this week have already caused the cancellation of more than 200 blood drives. As a result, 5,500 blood donations have gone uncollected in the first week of the new year. Where it's safe to do so, donors are asked to make an appointment to give blood or platelets now to help keep the blood supply on track as the threat of severe winter storms persists this season.
