SACRAMENTO — The American Red Cross California Gold Country Region has named Nuriddin Ziyadinov as its new Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than a decade of leadership experience in disaster response, community engagement, nonprofit management and strategic partnership development.
Most recently, Ziyadinov served as Interim Regional Executive for the American Red Cross Central California Region. He previously held leadership roles as National Partnerships Engagement Manager for the Mission Impact and Inclusion team and Executive Director of the Northern California Chapter. His appointment marks a homecoming, as he returns to serve the communities where his Red Cross career began in 2016.
Ziyadinov's leadership is guided by a core belief that service has the power to transform lives. He is committed to fostering hope, strengthening community connectedness, and ensuring people receive support when they need it most.
"I am honored and excited to step into the role of Regional CEO for the California Gold Country Region. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated teams and strengthening collaboration with our partners, board members, volunteers, donors, and community leaders to expand our collective impact," Ziyadinov said. "It is a privilege to serve alongside such extraordinary humanitarians. Together, we will build on this remarkable legacy of compassion and service, find new ways to amplify our reach and bring hope to those who need it most."
For Ziyadinov, the Red Cross mission is more than a profession. As a teenager in Kyrgyzstan, he encountered the Red Cross for the first time and witnessed the organization's humanitarian mission in action. The compassion and support his family received left a lasting impression, inspiring a lifelong commitment to service and ultimately setting him on a path to Red Cross leadership.
Fluent in six languages and experienced in working across diverse cultures and communities, Ziyadinov has led mission-driven initiatives throughout his career. Since joining the American Red Cross, he has served in regional and national leadership roles, deployed to major disaster operations, strengthened community partnerships and guided teams through collaborative efforts that advance the organization's mission.
As Regional CEO and Executive Director of the Sierra-Delta Chapter, Ziyadinov will serve more than 5.5 million people across the 31 counties that make up the California Gold Country Region which spans across three chapters: Heart of the Valley, Northern California, and Sierra-Delta.
Last year alone, volunteers across the California Gold Country Region provided shelter, food, comfort and hope to more than 2,600 people impacted by emergencies, responded to more than 720 local disasters and distributed direct financial assistance to affected families. These accomplishments were made possible through the dedication of more than 4,100 local volunteers, whose commitment to service strengthens communities every day.
