LAKE ARROWHEAD, Calif. — February 28, 2023 — The American Red Cross of San Bernardino County has mobilized its disaster workers to help those affected by the winter storms. The Red Cross is supporting a shelter at Rim of the World High School (27400 CA-18, Lake Arrowhead). At the shelter, Red Cross volunteers are providing safe place to stay, along with food, hydration, and more.
Down the Mountain
In response to mountain-area road closures caused by winter weather, the American Red Cross of San Bernardino County continues to operate the shelter at Redlands East Valley High School (31000 E Colton Ave) which remains open around-the-clock. Volunteers are available to assist residents unable to return home with emergency lodging, meals, snacks, hydration and more.
A San Bernardino County information line is also available seven days a week, 24 hours a day, at 909-387-3911.
At both shelters, trained Red Cross volunteers and staff remain on call around-the-clock and are ready to assist in various aspects including sheltering, feeding, and more.
HOW TO FIND A SHELTER
If someone needs to find a shelter or other help, they should follow their local media or go to redcross.org and check the shelter map. People can also find a shelter by downloading the free Red Cross Emergency App, which also puts safety tips at their fingertips. The app is available in app stores by searching for the American Red Cross or going to redcross.org/apps. Everyone is welcome at Red Cross shelters.
