About the Red Cross Animal Visitation Program
Animals have a unique way of bringing people comfort, calm and joy, especially during challenging moments. The Red Cross Animal Visitation Program connects trained volunteer teams and their animals with local service members, individuals and families to provide emotional support, companionship and moments of relief when they’re needed most.
The Red Cross exists to provide compassionate care to people in need. The Animal Visitation Program reflects what we believe at our core: care comes in many forms. Sometimes it looks like emergency response. Sometimes it looks like preparedness. And sometimes, it looks like a wagging tail and a quiet moment of comfort shared.
