Shishir has served as Board Vice-Chair, Chair for the Mission Impact Committee, and member of the Biomed Committee. Shishir retired in 2013 from his role as Senior Vice President and General Manager at QLogic Corporation. Since then, he has served as a volunteer in multiple capacities to support the Red Cross mission, including: Disaster Action Team Duty Officer and Disaster Action Team Supervisor to help clients during home fires, Mass Care Lead, Sound the Alarm Regional Lead, and educator for city and county workers on how to set up and manage shelters.
David Engwall joined the American Red Cross of Orange County Board of Directors in 2016. He chaired the newly formed Biomed Committee, growing awareness and engagement of the board regarding blood donations and blood collection in the area. He has also been active in the Red Cross Sound the Alarm initiative, personally installing over 100 free smoke alarms to help prevent home fire deaths and injuries. David is passionate about supporting the Red Cross, often representing the organization at various events and activities, and serving as the board’s Co-Vice Chair in 2020 and 2021. David is proud of volunteers at the Red Cross and their passion for helping communities when it’s needed most.
David first became involved with the Red Cross while working for Johnson & Johnson, often leading Red Cross blood donation campaigns. During his 28 years at J&J, he was Vice President of Sales for Advanced Sterilization Products and Vice President of Strategic Accounts, representing J&J to Kaiser Permanente.
David is currently happily retired, having already completed a four-month “trip of a lifetime”: visiting 28 states and 24 national parks with his wife Laura in their RV. David and Laura have three sons, aged 27-31, and two beloved dogs.
