On November 4th, the IN THE BAG Steering Committee Women, held their 7th annual silent auction of designer purses bene tting The American Red Cross of the National Capital Region. One of the most distinguished philanthropic events held in the metropolitan area, and certainly the place to be, if handbags are one of your must-have accessories.
The main focus of the women’s luncheon is a wonderful and dizzying array of handbags.
This year the categories offered an astounding collection of purses categorized as Iconic-style, Kors In-style, Corporate & Urban-style and Vintage & Free-style. The silent auction of these purses brought in an amazing $47,860.
It is impossible to forget the Chocolate Chanel bag offered as an ICON Drawing purse offering only 35 ticket at $100 each — a sell out!
The incredible drawing packages offered a heart thumping chance to indulge in Monthly Restaurant Dinners, Sand Castles & Sunsets Get-a-way, or Home Sweet Home remodeling baskets. The generosity of the businesses and individuals donating these packages ultimately raised over $13,500 for the American Red Cross.
Brenda Blisk and the Steering Committee wish to thank you — our primary supporters. This annual charitable event would not be possible without your support and commitment to making it a successful, ongoing fundraising effort to bene t families right here in our neighborhoods and around the United States. We are thrilled to let you know IN THE BAG netted over $110,000 — our best year! This could not have been achieved without your donations, and eagerness to bid for one — maybe two or three special handbags you just had to take home!
Thank you for being there to support us, and most especially, extending your support to the American Red Cross.
