FAIRFAX, VA – September 6, 2018 — On Saturday, November 10, the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region will hold its annual Salute to Service at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. The event will bring together more than 600 military, government, corporate and community leaders showcasing the engagement of the community in making Red Cross services available for the region. The Salute to Service will celebrate extraordinary individuals and their contributions to humanitarian services and our country. Through our Networked for Care theme, we will also be highlighting the use of technology in providing service to more people more efficiently and effectively.
This year’s honorees include David Rubenstein, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Chairman, The Carlyle Group, who will receive the Lifetime of Service Award, and Retired U.S. Navy Veteran, Admiral Michelle Howard, will receive the Tiffany Circle Distinguished Woman Warrior Award. Teresa Carlson will accept the Corporate Hero Award on behalf of Amazon and Sean Breslin will accept the Community Partner Award on behalf of AvalonBay Communities.
This year’s Salute to Service Emcee will be NBC4 News Team Anchor, Leon Harris. Also during our VIP Reception, David Rubenstein will be interviewed by Chris Ullman, Managing Director, The Carlyle Group.
