Leesburg, VA — The American Red Cross of Loudoun and Prince William Counties has named its all-volunteer Chapter Board of Directors for FY22.
Michael P. Fischetti of Defense Acquisition University and University of Virginia will continue as board chair. A consultant, instructor, researcher, experienced acquisition leader and subject matter expert in contract management, Michael has over 35 years of acquisition experience in management, policy, and contracting officer positions in all facets of government and agency policy development and implementation. He has supported the community in various volunteer roles throughout his career—including the Herndon Virginia Jaycees and the national board of NCMA.
“We are thankful to see Michael continuing to extend his experience and expertise to our lifesaving Red Cross work, as chapter board chair, said Erwin Stierle, Executive Director for the Red Cross of Loudoun and Prince William Counties and a committed Red Cross leader since 2011.
Each local Red Cross chapter strives to build sustainable relationships with diverse community partners – offering programs and services that reach thousands with disaster preparedness information and other lifesaving information, annually. Powered by over 550 dedicated volunteers, in the last fiscal year, the Red Cross of Loudoun and Prince William Counties helped to collect more than 6,500 pints of lifesaving blood for hospital patients in need; and trained more than 11,000 people in lifesaving skills – like First Aid and CPR.
“The Loudoun and Prince William Counties Red Cross makes an enormous difference by providing relief, comfort and hope to people during their greatest times of need,” said Michael Fischetti. “It is an honor to serve my community as the chapter board chair.”
