With Giving Tuesday around the corner, this is the opportunity to help spread holiday cheer, and to Give Something That Means Something!
Each day, thousands of people – people just like you – provide compassionate care to those in need. Our network of generous donors, volunteers, and employees share a mission of preventing and alleviating suffering, here at home and around the world.
This holiday season will look very different for most as some adhere to new travel procedures to visit loved ones, while others opt to stay home and have a virtual holiday celebration. While we all do our best to adjust to what our new normal is, it’s also a time to be reminded of those who are less fortunate and in need of a helping hand.
We have seen an unprecedented number of disasters ranging from Western Wildfires to numerous hurricanes impacting the Gulf and East Coast states this year. Those that have been affected by these disasters, along with many others, need your help. You can give a unique and meaningful gift this holiday season to bring hope to those in need.
Here are some ways you can give something that means something:
- The Red Cross responds to a disaster every eight minutes. In a disaster, children and families often lose their home and are left exposed to the elements. For only $25 you can provide warm blankets to 5 people to help protect them and sleep comfortably.
- Provide hot meals for a family. A $100 donation will help provide a nourishing meal, snacks, and a drink for 10 people that have been affected by a disaster. Help make sure no family goes hungry after a disaster strikes.
- Support our troops! Honor that former military member you know with a gift toward those serving our country. A $145 contribution provides military hospital kits to 20 service members.
- Make a global impact! Giving from the heart knows no borders and your gift can support the work the Red Cross does internationally. A financial contribution of $250 can provide an emergency kit for 2 families that include hygiene supplies, blankets, water containers, and more in the aftermath of a disaster.

This year as we all have had to make adjustments in our personal and professional lives, let’s not forget those that have gone through a disaster and had to watch their home and belongings burn to the ground, or evacuate from their home as one of the many hurricanes approached, only to return to a home that was no longer livable.
Your gift will not only honor your friends and family members but complete strangers too, all while supporting the mission of the Red Cross. There is no better way to bring hope this holiday season.
