Throughout the global pandemic, the South Florida Region’s Tiffany Circle members have remained dedicated to serving others and supporting the humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross.
Essential Protective Equipment Sent to NYC
When the pandemic started, the South Florida Region’s Tiffany Circle Miami Chapter members found a way to join together to support a fellow BMH TC member who headed to the front lines to volunteer at “ground zero” in the ICU at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, NY.
When news of Dr. Angeleke Saridakis’ selfless decision to help one of the hardest hit hospitals in the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic spread amongst our local members, they stepped up to collect much-needed personal protective equipment. Working with Miami physician and Red Cross supporter Dr. Jose Soler-Baillo of Soler-Baillo Plastic Surgery, they filled a duffel bag with critical supplies and comfort items and shipped it to Dr. Saridakis and her team at Elmhurst. “We wanted Angeleke to know and to feel that she was supported and protected by her Tiffany Circle sisters as she embarked upon her brave journey into the eye of the COVID-19 storm.”–Julia Rea Bianchi, Tiffany Circle Founding Member and past National Co-chair.
TC Member’s Foundation Assists Frontline Heroes
Miami BMH Silver member Ana VeigaMilton, President of the Jose Milton Foundation, donated more than 300 temporary housing units free of charge to staff at Jackson Health System fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. The donated apartments are fully furnished, include free utilities and are available under a 30-day lease along with weekly extensions as needed by the tenants. This generous gift to the South Florida community amounts to an overall donation of $2.2 million dollars.
