MIAMI, FL – August 15, 2017 — The American Red Cross South Florida Region has named Grace Meinhofer-Rodriguez its new Regional Communications & Marketing Director.
In this role, Meinhofer-Rodriguez will be responsible for all internal and external communications, media relations, social media and disaster public affairs for the region, which serves nearly 8 million people across 13 counties.
“As someone who has worked with the American Red Cross in the past, it’s a privilege to continue serving communities with such an amazing organization,” said Grace Meinhofer-Rodriguez. “I understand the Red Cross mission and am excited to increase its public awareness.”
Most recently, Meinhofer-Rodriguez led the marketing communications efforts at Wax Communications, where she worked with Sales and other teams to develop and execute branding and communications strategies. She also served as Marketing and Advertising Chief for the U.S. Army at Fort Buchanan in Puerto Rico, where she launched numerous successful campaigns through both digital and traditional channels and gained extensive experience in media relations, project management, crisis communications and fundraising.
A bilingual Puerto Rico native, Meinhofer-Rodriguez has a history of commitment to community service as well as extensive experience in communications. Her involvement includes volunteering at Fundacion Bendecidos para Bendecir in Puerto Rico, The Humane Society, The Miami Dade Children’s Courthouse and the American Red Cross. Not only did she volunteer with the Red Cross Public Affairs Department, she also worked closely with the organization during her tenure with the U.S. Army.
Meinhofer-Rodriguez is currently a board member of the Public Relations Society of America Miami Chapter.
She earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications, a Master’s degree in Public Relations, and a postgraduate certificate in European communications from the University of Business Navarra, Spain.
