Fort Myers, FL., November 6, 2017 — The American Red Cross Florida’s Southern Gulf Chapter partnered with Arthrex Corporation, a global medical device company, to launch their annual “Holiday for Heroes” campaign at Arthrex’s corporate headquarters in Naples, FL.
“Holiday for Heroes” is an annual campaign in which the American Red Cross provides the community with the opportunity to send messages of thanks and holiday cheer to military members, veterans and their families.
The Lee and Collier Counties Red Cross Chapters accepted donations of puzzle books, playing cards, toiletry items, non-perishable food and snacks. Arthrex employees gathered on Thursday to place the donated items in handmade holiday stockings along with encouraging holiday cards provided by the community. These care packages will then be mailed by Arthrex to soldiers serving overseas.
“We are thankful for Arthrex and the community coming together to assemble these gifts for our soldiers,” said Jill Palmer, executive director of the Southern Gulf Chapter. “The outpouring of donations and holiday cards from the community and the help of Arthrex employees was truly a wonderful way to begin the holiday season.”
Sending holiday mail to American military members, veterans and their families is an easy but meaningful way to give something that means something to our nation’s two million service members and 24 million veterans.
