FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (September 6, 2018) – On Thursday, September 27, the Broward County Chapter of the American Red Cross will host its annual Dine & Dock Celebrity/CEO Experience Auction and Humanitarian Awards at Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. This annual signature event is the single largest fundraising event for the Broward County Chapter.
“We’re delighted to have this opportunity to honor our community leaders for their humanitarian efforts and I want to thank our celebrities who will be auctioning off some unique personal experiences that will help raise funds to support our mission in Broward County” said Paula Prendergast, executive director for the Broward Chapter.
The event will begin with an ultra-chic VIP Reception at 5:30 p.m. in the marina overlooking a beautiful sunset from an Ocean Alexander motor yacht provided by MarineMax Yachts. Refreshments and appetizers will be served during this stunning affair hosted and donated by Potions in Motion of Boca Raton, Fla.
The networking Welcome Reception hosted by JM Family Enterprises, Inc. will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the foyer of the beautiful Panorama Room. Guests will enjoy a variety of delicious food stations and fabulous cocktails along with more networking and access to local celebrities and CEO’s.
At 7:30 p.m. Event Chair, Alexandra Bader, will kick off the program as the Humanitarian Honorees receive their prestigious awards.
This year, Barry Skolnick along with first responders Frank Herrera (Margate Fire Rescue), Captain Matthew Whiteshield (Margate Fire Rescue), Captain Monica Maldonado (Oakland Park Fire Rescue) and Samuel Willson II (Oakland Park Fire Rescue) will be presented with the 2018 Humanitarian Award. All honorees embody the spirit of the American Red Cross through their contributions to the welfare and quality of life of South Florida residents.
Following the Humanitarian Awards will be a high-energy VIP Celebrity auction. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on Celebrity/CEO auction experiences from the following:

All proceeds raised from this year’s Dine & Dock will benefit the American Red Cross and aid in their response to local disasters, ranging from home fires to hurricanes. The Red Cross provides relief and comfort to assist families and entire communities in their time of need.
