WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (July 5, 2018) – The Palm Beach and Martin County Chapter of the American Red Cross has named Theodore Peroulakis as the new Chair of its Board of Directors.
Theodore Peroulakis is a Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch and has over 17 years of experience in the financial industry. He is a member of the Girard, Kovarik & Associates team and is a Certified Financial Planner, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.
Peroulakis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Florida State University and a master’s degree from the University of Miami.
Theodore Peroulakis began his notable work in the community in 2001 as a Red Cross volunteer. He served as Team Leader of the Disaster Action Team, where he responded to local emergencies and assisted families in need.
“I joined the Red Cross as a volunteer to get involved with an organization that helps people when they need it most, after disaster strikes” said Theodore Peroulakis, Board Chair. “I liked how the Red Cross helped people after they were affected from everything from home fires to hurricanes.”
Peroulakis takes great pride in his volunteer work, so much so, that he became a Lead Shelter Manager during Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and last year, during Hurricane Irma. In addition, he volunteered his time during Hurricane Isaac in 2012 as an Assistant Shelter Manager.
“I continue to support the Red Cross because volunteering gives me a great sense of purpose in building safer communities and is driven by the desire to create a better world by helping people” said Peroulakis.
Currently, Peroulakis is a board member of the American Red Cross Palm Beach and Martin County Chapter where he serves as their Volunteer and Mission Committee Chair and previously as their Philanthropy Committee Chair. In addition, he serves on the Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County Board and the local Aging & Disability Resource Center Board.
“Our organization is very fortunate to have Ted serving in this leadership position. He brings a wealth of experience and insight” said Jennifer Durrant, executive director of the Palm Beach and Martin County Chapter. “His dedication to the mission will enable us to continue to help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.”
