WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 13, 2020) — On Friday, Feb. 21, the Palm Beach & Martin Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross will host a building naming ceremony in West Palm Beach, Fla. to recognize the Addison Hines Charitable Trust and their generous donation.
Last year in December, the South Florida Red Cross received a generous pledge of $1 million from the Addison Hines Charitable Trust to support local disaster and home fire response and relief.
The Trust’s generous donations will enable the Red Cross to prepare communities for disasters big and small, respond whenever and wherever disasters occur and help families during the recovery process.
To recognize and honor the $1 million contribution, the South Florida Red Cross will dedicate its regional headquarters office located in West Palm Beach after Addison Hines and the Trust.
The Trust was established in 2006 following the passing of Addison Hines, a longtime Palm Beach resident and philanthropist. His sharp wit and infectious sense of humor live on and he continues to make an impact in this community through his Trust’s support of local charities, such as the Red Cross.
Since 2006, the Trust has already provided over $1 million in grants to support the work of the Red Cross in the Palm Beach community, most of which has been designated to support local emergency relief activities. The Trust is pleased to continue its support of local home fire response and disaster relief through this multi-year pledge.
“The Red Cross relies on the generosity of donors, like the Addison Hines Charitable Trust every day,” said Joanne Nowlin, CEO of the South Florida Region. “We are so grateful for the Trust’s contribution and the humanitarian support, programs, and services it will bring to our local community.”
The Red Cross invites the public to join the dedication ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the chapter office located at 1250 Northpoint Parkway, West Palm Beach. A volunteer-led chapter tour will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. and follow with the dedication ceremony at 11 a.m. For more information on the event and to RSVP, please contact Lilian Guazzelli at lilian.guazzelli@redcross.org or (561) 254-3483.
