WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 18, 2019) – The American Red Cross has received a generous pledge of $1 million from the Addison Hines Charitable Trust to support local disaster and home fire response and relief.
The Trust was established in 2006 following the passing of Addison Hines, a longtime Palm Beach resident and philanthropist. His sharp wit and infectious sense of humor live on and he continues to make an impact in this community through his Trust’s support of local charities, such as the Red Cross.
Since 2006, the Trust has already provided over $1 million in grants to support the work of the Red Cross in the Palm Beach community, most of which has been designated to support local emergency relief activities. The Trust is pleased to continue its support of local home fire response and disaster relief through this multi-year pledge.
“We rely on the generosity of donors to help us deliver comfort and care to families when they need it most and the Addison Hines Charitable Trust is doing just that with this tremendous gift,” said Joanne Nowlin, CEO for the South Florida Region. “We thank Mr. Hines and the Trust for their support in advancing our lifesaving mission in Palm Beach County.”
These generous donations from the community and corporate partners enable the Red Cross to prepare communities for disasters big and small, respond whenever and wherever disasters occur and help families during the recovery process.
