BROWARD COUNTY, FL (May 12, 2023) – The Broward County Chapter of the American Red Cross announced that Kerstin Sachl joined its Board of Directors, a team made up of local business and civic leaders who give of their time, expertise and compassion in support of Red Cross humanitarian services.   

“We are thrilled to have Kerstin join our American Red Cross Broward Board of Directors,” said Executive Director of the American Red Cross Broward County Chapter Paula Prendergast. “She’s an accomplished leader in the south Florida community and will be a strong asset for the Red Cross mission.”

Down the street, across the country and around the world, the Red Cross helps residents prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies and disasters large and small. The organization serves the residents of Broward County through the power of its workforce and the generosity of the American public.

Kerstin Sachl, Vice President of Communications & PR at Marriott International for the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA), leads communications for Marriott International in the region. She sets the strategic direction for communications in CALA, which includes over 300 properties representing 22 unique brands across 37 countries and territories.

Shortly after joining Marriott International in 2016, she led the restructure and integration of the PR organization with Starwood Hotels and now oversees all aspects of communications for her region. This includes crisis communications, ensuring alignment between destinations, properties and global, and internal communication for continuous engagement with a variety of stakeholder groups.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the American Red Cross Broward Board of Directors and look forward to working alongside the wonderful members as well as the organization’s exceptional volunteer community,” said Kerstin. “The breadth of support the Red Cross lends in the U.S. and abroad to serve those in need every day has always been an inspiration. With many years of experience, Kerstin’s efforts have earned her many awards, including the 2016 Marriott International CALA PR Leader of the Year award and a 2017 Marriott International BMSC Americas ACE award. CALA has won several industry awards for impactful regional PR initiatives under Kerstin’s leadership, including a 2018 Latin America Sabre Award and in 2023 three HSMAI awards for DEI Marketing, New Openings/Launch Strategy and Integrated Campaign. In 2019 she was recognized as one of the 2019 Top Women in PR by PR News.

Kerstin speaks four languages, holds a B.A. in translation, as well as an executive MBA from Florida International University. She resides in Miami, Florida.
