February 1, 2023 – As the families affected by the multi-unit fire in Miami Gardens try to piece back together their lives, the South Florida Red Cross continues to provide support to those impacted by the blaze.
Last night, more than 47 individuals sought refuge in the Red Cross shelter, which has been opened at the Betty T Recreational Center in Miami Gardens. 68 cases have been opened by the Red Cross caseworkers, working with the individual families to address their specific needs. 20 health cases have been opened and resolved and 45 trained volunteers have raised their hands to come and support these families in their time of need.
With the help of community partners, the Red Cross continues to work around the clock to assess the needs of those impacted.
