FORT MYERS, FLA. (July 11, 2023) – The Florida Gulf Coast to Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross is proud to welcome Jennie Anderson and Lana K. Uhrig to its Board of Directors, a team made up of local business and civic leaders who give of their time, expertise and compassion in support of Red Cross humanitarian services.
“The Board of Directors for Florida Gulf Coast to Heartland plays a significant role in ensuring the Red Cross can carry out our mission locally, regionally and even nationally,” said Jill Palmer, executive director for the Florida Gulf Coast to Heartland Chapter. “Lana and Jennie bring a wealth of skills and talent to our board and I look forward to their leadership and support.”
Down the street, across the country and around the world, the Red Cross helps residents prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies and disasters large and small. The organization serves the residents of Lee, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Highlands County through the power of its workforce and the generosity of the American public.
Jennie Anderson
Anderson has more than 20 years of experience in human resources and recruiting, in financial services, pharmaceutical and consumer products. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University and Master of Arts from Eastern Kentucky University.
She began her business career at Avon Products, Inc., in New York, where she held various management roles including: regional marketing, corporate development, and product training. Anderson was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and served as the Global Head of Human Resources for the Asset Management Division, Head of Human Resources for the Investment Banking Division and was the Head of Campus Recruiting. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, she was a Manager of Human Resources for Sanofi-Aventis. There, Anderson was responsible for the human capital management of headquarters, distribution, and sales force staff. In her former role, she directed a strong, multi-faceted global team that spanned executive search, lateral and high-volume recruitment, operations, reporting, analytics and university relations.
Lana K. Uhrig
Lana joins the American Red Cross with extensive experience in operations, strategic planning, leadership development & mentoring, board development and community engagement. In her past roles, she has been recognized as a subject matter expert in the development, implementation, and growth of cancer programs and non-profit administration.
She has a reputation for resolving complex operational issues while maximizing employee experience, engaging cross-functional teams, and delivering high-growth system improvements. She is a long-time trusted advisor and board member experienced with governance, and stewardship.
Through her career, Lana uses knowledge and leverages connections, networks, and resources to support organization’s fundraising efforts, reputation, and strategic goals.
