Lucy Routh, a high school student in Boise, knows firsthand the impact of blood donation. Her mom, a cancer survivor, was also hit by a drunk driver last summer and needed multiple surgeries —and emergency blood transfusions—to survive.
Grateful for the donors who helped save her mom’s life not once, but twice, Lucy hosted a Red Cross blood drive at Boise Towne Square last month through our Leaders Save Lives program.
“I just can't even express how grateful I am for this. All of the health care professionals and the people who work at the Red Cross," she said. "Because I know that it wouldn't be possible without people doing what they do and donors donating blood. So thank you.”
