No one else does this: not the government, not other charities. From small house fires to multi-state natural disasters, the American Red Cross goes wherever we’re needed, so people can have clean water, safe shelter and hot meals when they need them most.
In addition to connecting you with programs and services offered by the Illinois American Red Cross, the Greater Chicago Chapter offers referrals and resources for those in need.
The American Red Cross provides easy to understand and use tools, tips and guidance for you to prepare your family for disasters big and small.
We could have just the opportunity you’re looking for ... whether it's training to respond to disasters, supporting a blood drive, delivering messages to members of our military, or connecting families displaced by conflict, we hope you'll join our mission.
We collect blood every day from donors who help ensure a safe supply of blood when it’s needed.
We offer training in first aid, CPR/AED, swimming and water safety, care giving and more.
Aquatics Centennial Campaign
The American Red Cross created the first national water safety program and, today, it’s still the gold standard for aquatics training.
Service to the Armed Forces
The American Red Cross provides critical services with a caring touch to men and women in all branches of the United States military, active duty personnel, reservists and members of the National Guard, and their families. Through our Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) program, service men and women are eligible for three types of assistance beginning on the first day of enlistment: Emergency Services, Service to Military Families and Service to Military and Veterans Hospitals.
If you are in need of these services, please call our 24/7 Military Casework Line at: 877-272-7337
Home Fire Campaign
The American Red Cross is launching a nationwide campaign to reduce the number of home fire deaths and injuries by 25% over the next five years through the Home Fire Preparedness Safety Campaign.
Each year, disasters and crises devastate millions of people. As part of the world’s largest humanitarian network, Red Cross Red Crescent teams provide relief and hope in nearly every corner of the globe.
