LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY - The American Red Cross is proud to announce the appointment of Nadine McCrindle as the new Regional Chief Executive Officer of the Kentucky Region. In this role, McCrindle will lead a team of humanitarians across multiple lines of lifesaving Red Cross services – including disaster relief efforts and support of the U.S. military community and their families. Located in Louisville, she will also serve as the Executive Director for the Louisville Area Chapter, one of five chapters in the region.
McCrindle will lead an operation that includes over 1,000 volunteers and 40 employees. This combined workforce responds to more than 1,200 home fires each year; educates residents on home fire safety and emergency preparedness; deploys to disasters outside the region; installs more than 10,000 free smoke alarms in more than 2,700 homes a year; teaches lifesaving skills to thousands of individuals and companies; and provides support to military members, veterans and their families.
McCrindle started her Red Cross career as the Executive Director of the Central and Eastern Oregon Chapter in 2019. Since 2022, she has been the Regional Disaster Officer for the National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region. In addition to her regional disaster role, McCrindle has been serving as the interim Regional Chief Executive Officer in the National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region since November 2024. She brings a great deal of disaster and leadership experience to the Kentucky Region, having supported numerous relief operations such as the historic 2020 Oregon wildfires, the more recent Hurricanes Helene and Milton and the tragic mid-air collision in Washington, D.C. this past January. Prior to the Red Cross, McCrindle had a 20-year career in marketing.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nadine to the Red Cross Kentucky Region,” said Lance Mann, Red Cross Kentucky Region Board Chair. “Nadine’s extensive experience as a former executive director and current disaster services leader, combined with her hands-on involvement in relief operations, exemplifies the compassion and dedication she will bring to Kentucky. She has a deep understanding of the importance of fostering relationships with our generous donors and the beneficiaries of their support. Nadine truly embodies the Red Cross mission, and we are confident she will be an outstanding leader for our Kentucky Red Cross team and the entire Commonwealth. We are incredibly fortunate to have her at the helm of our Kentucky efforts.”
The American Red Cross Kentucky Region serves more than 4 million people throughout 117 counties. The Louisville Area Chapter serves as the regional headquarters and services 18 surrounding counties, including three in southern Indiana.
