LAS VEGAS (April 28, 2026) — Today, Clark County first responders are coming together for the fifth annual American Red Cross of Southern Nevada Battle of the Badges Blood Drive. Running from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Allegiant Stadium, firefighters and police officers will work side by side to encourage the community to donate blood and help maintain a stable blood supply.
“Blood donation is one of the simplest ways to help patients in need,” said Rachael Flanigan, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter. “Our local first responders are using this event to encourage the community to give and help keep the blood supply strong.”
Building Community Support Through Friendly Rivalry
The Battle of the Badges brings together Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers and firefighters from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and Clark County Fire Department in a friendly competition. Donors can show their support by voting for their favorite first responder team, with the winner determined by the most votes at the end of the drive.
“Our firefighters and police officers know firsthand the critical role blood donations play during emergencies,” Flanigan said. “We’re asking the public to join this effort and help us maintain a steady blood supply for patients who rely on it.”
Partnerships That Make a Lifesaving Difference
The Battle of the Badges Blood Drive is made possible through partnerships with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, Clark County Fire Department, FOX5 Las Vegas, Subaru of Las Vegas, Semper Fi Heating & Cooling, Alleviant, Allegiant Stadium, Raiders Impact, Republic Services and Suburban Propane.
