LAS VEGAS (Dec. 11, 2025) — This December, the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada invites the community to take part in Matching Miracles, a series of special one-day opportunities to double the impact of donations. Thanks to the generosity of corporate partners, foundations and individual donors, contributions made on specific days will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to a designated amount, and only until midnight on each matching day. With more than $2 million in matching funds available, this campaign provides an incredible opportunity to maximize the impact of every gift.
These matching opportunities help the Red Cross continue its vital work, such as disaster relief, lifesaving blood collection, preparedness training, and support for veterans and military families. Every donation ensures communities have the resources they need in times of crisis.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our partners and donors,” said Rachel Flanigan, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter. “These matching gifts not only double the impact of every donation but also inspire our community to come together and make a meaningful difference. This support allows us to deliver critical aid and hope to those in need.”

Support Making a Difference Nationwide and in Southern Nevada
This year, the American Red Cross has been a lifeline for families facing disasters like wildfires in California, flooding in Alaska and tornadoes in the Midwest. Red Cross volunteers have provided shelter, food and emotional support. The Red Cross has also responded to countless home fires, which spike 20% during the holidays, and distributed over $130 million in financial aid nationwide to help families rebuild.
Here in Southern Nevada, Red Cross volunteers have made a tremendous impact in 2025. They responded to over 240 home fires, assisting more than 1,100 people, installed over 2,000 free smoke alarms and shared critical fire prevention information. Volunteers also supported veterans and active-duty military families, organized hundreds of blood drives and deployed nationwide to help communities devastated by disasters.
