LAS VEGAS (Oct. 26, 2025) — The American Red Cross of Southern Nevada is providing emergency assistance to 21 residents displaced by a late-night fire at a 16-unit condominium building in Las Vegas. Red Cross volunteers were on the scene early this morning, offering shelter, support to meet basic needs and emotional care to those affected by the devastating blaze.
“This fire has upended the lives in our community, and our priority is to offer swift support and resources to aid in their recovery,” said Rachel Flanigan, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter. “Our dedicated volunteers are on the ground, ensuring those displaced have a safe place to stay, basic necessities and compassionate care as they navigate this difficult time.”
Fire at Meadows Condominiums
The fire broke out around 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, in the attic and roof of the Meadows Condominiums, located at 230 Mission Catalina Lane near Decatur Boulevard and Alta Drive in Las Vegas. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the upper structure; however, all units were evacuated due to safety concerns. The fire caused significant water and smoke damage throughout the building, and power was shut off to all 16 units.
Red Cross volunteers were called to the scene at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, to assist those displaced. The Red Cross provided immediate support to 10 families, totaling 21 people, including shelter and resources to meet their basic needs. Two units were unoccupied, and volunteers are working to reach any additional families in need of assistance. Mental health and spiritual care services are also available to help residents cope with the emotional toll of the disaster.
Anyone impacted by this fire, or other disasters, is encouraged to contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) for help.
