LAS VEGAS (Sept. 24, 2026) — Following the lifesaving success of the collaboration that kicked off last year, the American Red Cross and Metallica are once again joining forces to help patients in need with an all-new, exclusive experience for blood donors.

In celebration of the band’s upcoming Las Vegas residency, the Red Cross, Metallica and its foundation, All Within My Hands, are launching the Red Cross x Metallica Blood Donation Experience ─ a pop-up blood donation center where members of the Metallica Family can help save lives and get the chance to step into the world behind the scenes of a Metallica concert starting later this month:

• The Red Cross x Metallica Blood Donation Experience, sponsored by Delta Air Lines, will open its doors on Sept. 28, at Fashion Show Las Vegas on the famous Las Vegas strip.
• The immersive experience gives donors a sense of what it’s like backstage at a show and includes the opportunity to take a seat at a replica drum set similar to the one used by Lars Ulrich, founding member of Metallica.
• All who come to give at this site will receive a limited-edition T-shirt designed by Squindo, while supplies last.
• Additionally, all who come to give will be automatically entered for a chance to win the same replica drum kit, built by TAMA and much like the one specially made for Lars Ulrich for Metallica’s WorldWired Tour. Full terms and conditions can be found at RedCrossBlood.org/Metallica.
• Donors will also have the chance to enjoy refreshments post-donation at the Delta Backstage Lounge. As a longtime blood partner of the Red Cross, Delta is providing the support that gives donors the chance to take part in this unique experience.

Lifesaving Impact
Members of the Metallica Family have answered the call to help save lives since April 2025, when the Red Cross and Metallica teamed up to hold blood drives at select stops during the U.S. leg of the M72 Tour. The campaign quickly expanded nationwide, giving fans across the country a chance to participate as part of the Give Where You Live campaign. As a result, more than 25,000 blood donations were collected across the U.S. as part of the collaboration. The movement also went global, with the band encouraging blood donation at overseas stops along their M72 World Tour. About 93,000 total blood donations were collected worldwide.

How to donate blood
Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Blood and platelet donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass® to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, before arriving at the blood drive.
