Reno, NV (Oct. 28, 2023) — The American Red Cross of Northern Nevada is excited to participate in the Nevada Day Parade held this Saturday in Carson City. Volunteers and employees will travel along the parade route accompanied by one of our Emergency Response Vehicles and will pass out candy with Red Cross information.
Newly appointed Executive Director of the Northern Nevada Chapter of the Red Cross, Tiandra Rushing, will be at the parade and available for interview on Saturday morning. Rushing said, “As a fourth-generation Northern Nevadan, I’m proud to celebrate our heritage with this fun and festive parade. The American Red Cross aims the prevent and alleviate suffering right here in our state and we want people to know that we’re here in the good times and in the bad.”
Parade Information:
At 10 a.m., a military fly-over will signal the start of the parade beginning at William Street and N. Carson Street, and ends 4 hours later at the intersection of Stewart Street and S. Carson Street. The parade features marching bands, floats, equestrian groups, historical displays, Burning Man art cars, and much more.
