NEW YORK, February 18, 2022—The American Red Cross in Greater NY today released the final episode of its third podcast season which provides a behind-the-scenes look at some of the emergencies that have shaped our nation over the past 20 years.
This episode examines the January 15, 2009 landing of US Airways Flight 1549 on the Hudson River, also known as the Miracle on the Hudson. We hear from some of the passengers and crew who recall the short flight, the terrifying water landing and the harrowing rescue. Also featured are Red Cross team members who immediately sprang into action to help on the banks of the Hudson River.
The third season of the American Red Cross in Greater New York podcast features episodes about the 2003 Northeast Blackout, 9/11, Hurricane Maria, and the Paradise Wildfire (the Camp Fire) and the Miracle on the Hudson.
