The Red Cross Leadership Development Camp (LDC) is a leadership conference for youth ages 13 - 17 and entering grades 8 - 12 in the fall from anywhere in the tri-state area. Camp fee is $75 with need-based financial assistance available on a limited basis.
LDC is designed to give teens experience with and insight into leadership skills, traits and practices. LDC helps youth to find their own leadership abilities while building confidence and providing practice working in groups. Our camp is different from other leadership camps in that it is youth-led, all LDC counselors are high school students who have attended LDC themselves. Our peer counselor team has been working throughout the academic year to create interactive classes (for example Public Speaking, Advanced Communications and Self Expression), large and small group sessions and team building activities. Campers will also learn about the Red Cross and volunteer opportunities offered. The counselors can't wait to be your guides, small group (family group) leaders, and class facilitators at camp!
We are looking for campers who are ready to embrace new activities, meet new friends, and participate in leadership related activities that will stretch them out of their comfort zone. Campers say they come away from their LDC experience ready to take on new leadership challenges they never dreamed possible – at school, in their community, in their circle of friends and in their volunteer lives.
If you are ready to make THAT kind of experience a part of your summer - then it is time to get started by applying today!
