In coordination with community partners, the American Red Cross operated a shelter at Trinty Lutheran Church on Sept. 16-17 for individuals impacted by a multi-unit home fire on the unit block of E. Main Street in Lansdale, Montgomery County.
The two-alarm fire broke out just after noon on Wednesday, Sept. 16. The shelter opened that evening and accommodated 4 people overnight. In addition to a safe place to sleep, residents received meals and snacks, access to showers, clothing, comfort and care items and health and emotional support.
On Thursday, the Red Cross provided financial assistance to 11 people impacted by the fire, allowing the shelter to close that evening. Red Cross recovery specialists will continue supporting affected residents as they navigate their recovery journey.
