Finding that win-win isn’t always easy, but Texas de Brazil, a North Texas-based Brazilian steakhouse, found a way. In July, Texas de Brazil announced they were making a $10,000 donation to the American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces. Customers were then given the opportunity to join Texas de Brazil by donating as well; in return, the restaurant would provide coupons to match the customer's generosity, allowing them to enjoy good food and support a great cause.
Their fundraising campaign raised over $45,000 for the Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces. Over the last few years, the family-owned restaurant has raised more than $390,000 to support the SAF program, which serves the nation’s military personnel and their families, including active duty, National Guard, reservists, and veterans.
“We proudly support the American Red Cross programs that serve our military heroes and their families. These men and women endure countless sacrifices, and it’s our honor to give back and provide an opportunity for others to help raise funds that go directly to those who protect our freedoms,” Salim Asrawi, president of Texas de Brazil, said in a release.
Texas de Brazil supports Red Cross disaster relief operations. It has also provided delicious food at multiple Red Cross North Texas Region community events, including Sound the Alarm, a public welcome to DFW Metro West executive director Adolph Aguirre, and most recently, they hosted a Service to the Armed Forces volunteer recognition event.
We are sincerely grateful for Texas de Brazil's unwavering support over the past decade, including during the pandemic. Thank you!
