Disaster Services Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to provide food, shelter, comfort and home for families affected by major disasters such as wildfires, power outages, earthquakes and more. Disaster volunteers can give on-going support or can be on-call to respond to incidents as they happen. Disaster Services volunteers include logistics, liaisons, shelter workers, Disaster Action Team members, caseworkers and more. Medical and mental health professionals use their skills to provide care for individuals affected by a disaster. Join this compassionate and active team of volunteers to make a difference!
Service to the Armed Forces Volunteers
The Red Cross helps members of the military, veterans and their families prepare for, cope with, and respond to the challenges of military service. The Red Cross has served more than 1 million military families since 9/11. Our Service to the Armed Forces volunteers provide home comforts and critical services on bases and in military hospitals around the world, support military families during deployments and emergencies, and serve our nation’s veterans after their service ends.
Blood Services Volunteers
Work to recruit blood donors, promote blood drives, transport blood products to local hospitals and more! Whether you are interested in working at a local blood drive or in an office setting, we have volunteer opportunities for you. When you volunteer with the American Red Cross, you become part of a group of people who truly make a difference in the lives of their fellow Americans and help people in serious medical need.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways to get involved with the Red Cross – volunteers are also appreciated in other local departments: Development (assist with fundraising events and activities), Communications (assist with media relations and video/written projects), Administration (assist with office tasks and organizational needs) and Volunteer Services (help recruit and screen new volunteers).
