As a Disaster Responder Member of the American Red Cross Disaster Responder Program, the Pacific Life Foundation is a long-time supporter of Red Cross disaster relief efforts. Members like the Pacific Life Foundation help the Red Cross provide comfort and hope to those affected by disasters like hurricanes and countless other crises.
The Pacific Life Foundation’s financial support helps ensure the Red Cross can continue meeting the needs of people affected by disasters across the country – including safe shelter, nutritious meals and emotional support.
The Red Cross responds to about 65,000 disasters across the country every year, helping people in need during times of crisis. Donations to Red Cross Disaster Relief from Disaster Responder Program members like the Pacific Life Foundation enable the Red Cross to prepare communities for disasters big and small, respond whenever and wherever disasters occur and help families during the recovery process.
The Pacific Life Foundation’s annual commitment as a Disaster Responder Member helps ensure the Red Cross can mobilize at a moment’s notice, like its ongoing response to Hurricane Helene. The Pacific Life Foundation’s incremental donation of $100,000 to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts will help the Red Cross deliver vital help to those impacted by this devastating disaster.
Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 storm in Florida’s Big Bend region, inundating communities that were just beginning to recover from Hurricanes Debby and Idalia. From there, Helene carved a path of destruction across Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and several more states. The storm spurred catastrophic flooding, hitting North Carolina especially hard, and leaving communities across parts of the South and Appalachia in shambles.
Meaningful investments by corporate citizens like the Pacific Life Foundation power the efforts of hundreds of Red Cross workers and volunteers working around the clock to care for thousands of Helene survivors, providing nourishing meals, safe refuge, cleanup supplies, health services and emotional support.
