The contributions of corporate partners and foundations enable the American Red Cross to make a tremendous difference every day for those who rely on our services to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters and emergencies.
U.S. Bank is a longtime supporter of the Red Cross. Their recent $70,000 Community Possible grant helps the Red Cross Southern California Region deliver its mission in local communities, strengthening neighborhoods across SoCal.
The U.S. Bank Community Possible grant supports local Sound the Alarm events, helping residents be more prepared for home fires – one of the nation’s most frequent disasters. Through this vital program, the Red Cross and partners offer free smoke alarm installations and provide fire safety education in local neighborhoods to help prevent home fire deaths and injuries. Smoke alarms save lives, and working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death in half when faced with a home fire. In addition to their financial support of this important initiative, U.S. Bank employees have also participated in Sound the Alarm events, personally helping install lifesaving smoke alarms.
The Community Possible grant also supports our region’s Heroes Awards events, including the Orange County Heroes Awards, Inland Empire Heroes Awards and San Diego Real Heroes Awards. U.S. Bank is a Regional Sponsor of these inspiring events across Southern California, which celebrate local heroes and the positive impact they have on our communities. These events recognize ordinary people with extraordinary courage who embody the spirit and mission of the Red Cross and help make our communities safer and stronger every day – a shared goal of the Red Cross and U.S. Bank.
“U.S. Bank has been a longtime and trusted partner of the Red Cross, and we’re deeply grateful for their support of our humanitarian mission. Their commitment goes far beyond financial contributions. It reflects a shared dedication to helping communities prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies,” says Red Cross Southern California Region CEO Sean Mahoney. “Because of partners like U.S. Bank, we are able to deliver critical services and provide hope and help to families when they need us most.”
We thank partners like U.S. Bank for standing with the Red Cross and making a meaningful difference in communities across Southern California.
