As part of the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region, the Southern Maryland Chapter provides life-saving services in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties that include emergency disaster relief to local families and emotional and financial support to military families.
For more than a century, the American Red Cross has worked to help people prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Each and every day the Red Cross helps communities by providing disaster response (most often for home fires), support for military members and their families, life-saving trainings courses, the collection and distribution of much needed blood and blood products, support for international issue, meaningful volunteer opportunities, and so much more.

Ally Kelly is the interim Executive Director for the Red Cross of Southern Maryland which includes Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties. Ally aspires to embody the Red Cross vision, turning compassion into action, within the communities she serves.
In addition to the interim role, Ally oversees the Executive Development Program at the Red Cross. She also volunteers her time supporting the organization in different capacities and is a Red Cross National Young Professionals Council member, Co-chair of the Red Crossers with Kids team member resource group, and serves as a certified DEI Champion coach supporting the rollout of an enterprise-wide inclusive leadership framework.
Ally grew up in Michigan and now resides in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband, daughter, and two sons.
