We are urgently looking for shelter volunteers and need your help!
During the month of June, we will be hosting “Shelter in a Day” training classes at various locations throughout South Florida. Our train-in-a-day events allow volunteers to complete the basic steps to become qualified for their disaster role – all in one day!
Participants will learn the full cycle of Red Cross sheltering operations, the roles and responsibilities of this assignment, and the general expectations of a Red Cross Disaster Responder to be deployed locally, or, around the country - wherever the need is greatest.
Below are the dates and locations for each session:
June 2: West Palm Beach
June 8: Miami (Spanish Only), Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers
Please note that seating is limited. After registration you will be notified whether your chosen training site still has seats available. If not, alternate options will be provided.
