Today is Giving Tuesday and that means a chance to spread holiday warmth and cheer, and to give something that means something!
The holiday season is a time for family and festivities. It’s also a time to be reminded of those who are less fortunate and in need of a helping hand. This year, you can give a unique and meaningful gift to help the people we meet every eight minutes who have been devastated by disaster. Your gift this holiday season can bring hope to those in need.
Here are three ways you can give something that means something:
- The Red Cross responds to a disaster every eight minutes. A gift can be as small as $25 for a blanket or $30 for hot meals, yet will go a long way in providing comfort to those affected by disasters.
- Support our troops! Honor that former military member you know with a gift toward those serving our country. A $145 contribution provides military hospital kits to 20 service members.
- Make a global impact! Giving from the heart knows no borders and your gift can support the work the Red Cross does internationally. A financial contribution of $100 can vaccinate 100 children against measles, a $500 gift can vaccinate an entire village.
Visit redcross.org/gift and choose from the diverse assortment of symbolic gifts within a wide range of budgets. Make a tax-deductible donation online or call 1-800 RED CROSS to support the corresponding Red Cross services. Then, send a card to the friend, family member, co-worker or customer being honored by your donation.
Your gift will honor your friends or family members while supporting the mission of the Red Cross. There is no better way to bring hope this holiday season.
