Today, the South Florida Region of the American Red Cross launched its 12 Days of Hope Holiday Campaign – this initiative raises awareness and funds for the region while showcasing the work made possible because of its dedicated volunteers, donors and partners.

To kick off the campaign, we introduce you to Christine Thompson. Christine is a volunteer from the Broward County Chapter who responds to home fires in her community, as well as local disasters. Red Cross volunteers like Christine are part of the Disaster Action Team, a group of local responders who are ready 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to provide care, comfort, and recovery assistance after a disaster.  

The holiday season is a time for festivities and family. It’s also a time to give back. This year, you can give a meaningful gift that helps people through some of life’s toughest moments.
