Palm Beach, Fla. [November 12, 2024] — The Palm Beach and Treasure Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross is proud to announce that the 64th International Red Cross Ball will take place on Friday, January 10, 2025, at The Breakers Palm Beach. This renowned event, a cornerstone of the Palm Beach social season, will be hosted by Charles and Amanda Schumacher for the third consecutive year.
"Charles and I are honored to serve as Chairmen of the International Red Cross Ball – for the third year in a row – and we invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening at this historic Palm Beach event," said Amanda Schumacher. "The American Red Cross works tirelessly every day to support families recovering from devastating disasters, like hurricanes Beryl, Debby, Helene and Milton, the relentless wildfires in the West and numerous flooding events. They also provide lifesaving blood products and care for the servicemen and women of our nation. The International Red Cross Ball raises critical funds to continue that support. Join us as we celebrate the shared commitment to the Red Cross mission and help to make a difference far beyond the ballroom."
The Ball will pay special tribute to Bonnie McElveen Hunter, the event’s keynote speaker, whose extraordinary leadership and contributions as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the American Red Cross over the past twenty years have made a profound impact on the organization and the countless lives it touches.
“As the first woman since Clara Barton to receive a Presidential appointment to become Chairman of the Board of the American Red Cross, my heart is full of gratitude,” said Bonnie McElveen Hunter. “Our humanitarian journey and work is a sacred covenant among our employees, volunteers and the people in need who we are privileged to serve. This covenant is not about wealth or power, but about the bonds of belonging and of collective responsibility. I am deeply humbled to be recognized at next year’s Ball.”
As the frequency, intensity and unpredictability of disasters continue to rise, the International Red Cross Ball is more vital than ever. Funds raised from the event will support disaster relief efforts, providing emergency assistance, shelter, and recovery support to those affected by disasters, big and small. The Red Cross is proud that an average of 90 cents of every dollar spent is invested in delivering care and comfort to those in need.
