FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (April 30, 2019) — On Friday, April 26th, the American Red Cross recognized its 2018 top aquatics training providers from Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands at the John E. Mullin Park’s Aquatic Center in Lauderhill, Fla.
The Aquatics Providers Recognition event was hosted by the City of Lauderhill and highlighted achievements from 2018 for providers offering American Red Cross swim lessons, Lifeguarding, CPR/AED/First Aid training, and more. The top aquatics providers were recognized for a variety of categories including top ten reach, certifying more than 200 participants, campaign collaborators and participants, as well as new aquatics instructor trainers.
“The American Red Cross is incredibly grateful for the hard work and achievement of our aquatics providers who offer training courses,” said Patrick Beason, Territory Aquatics Executive for Florida, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands. “The work they do saves lives by reaching communities each day with water safety education and emergency preparedness.” In recognizing their achievements, the Red Cross hopes to convey not only our appreciation, but to further inspire the achievements of the aquatics community. We share a common goal and mission to prevent tragedies and to make our communities as safe and prepared for emergencies as possible.”
Providers in attendance included municipalities, waterparks, universities, and private businesses.
